Exercise has always been part of Cody Matherne’s life. As a child waiting to be picked from his mother’s restaurant for school in the morning, which was conveniently near a gym, he would spend a majority of his time in the gym. He would use this time to observe and ask questions about exercise routines and nutrition tips. This was the beginning of his journey and after 15 years of exercising on his own he decided to pursue his passion to help others get into shape.
He attended the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences where he earned an Associates Degree in Exercise Science Summa Cum Laude and Honorary Valedictorian of his graduating class. In addition to his Bachelor’s in Business from LSU, Cody plans to earn a Masters Degree in Physical Education and become a PE teacher. His long-term goal is to help address the obesity epidemic by helping kids develop better exercise habits.
As a trainer, and athlete, he enjoys helping anyone who is interested in reaching their physical potential, whether it be playing sports or living a health lifestyle. His belief is all exercises programs should be scientific, evidence based, and effective. The quality of the movement is more important than quantity.
Cody’s certifications include:
NSCA-CPT (National Strength and Conditioning Association)
