Dashawn Peterson is a native New Yorker from East Harlem. A natural “mover and dancer” he discovered yoga several years ago and his practice helped him evolve in many areas of his life. During his discovery, he lost 50 pounds and his practice of mindful movement and eating is what he attributes to keeping the weight off. He obtained his yoga teaching certification from Warriors Bridge studio in lower Manhattan. Besides Physical Equilibrium, he also teaches the Swedish Institute and Warriors Bridge. His approach to teaching embodies four main principles. These principles are mindfulness, fluidity, exploration and play. He is a firm believer of “practice what you teach” and “teach what you practice” so his teaching has evolved from his own practice over time.
Dashawn is also currently enrolled in massage therapy school at the Swedish Institute.
