Nicolas de Alejo
Nicolas de Alejo is a yoga instructor and corporate wellness ambassador. He has almost fifteen years of experience in investment banking and asset management of which he has sat in a desk the whole time. Alongside his corporate job, Nicolas runs his own wellness company, BeingWell Lifestyle LLC, through which he delivers wellness programming to help others in the corporate and professional world.
Nicolas has had a history of injuries, from several back herniations, shoulder tears, broken bones, etc. For a few years, there wasn’t a three month period where he wasn’t on crutches or some type of cast alleviating a sore injury. Nicolas used to spend a large portion of his time icing his body and going through physiotherapy. At the same time, Nicolas struggled with weight control and experienced the extremes of Freshman 15 or what he would say as Freshman 50. During this time, Nicolas pinnacled his body weight well over 230lbs sitting at the largest size he had ever been. Since then through the practice of yoga and wellness conditioning, Nicolas has successfully created an ‘icepack free life’ and a self-image that he says competes with his 7th grade weight. An athlete his entire life, natural physical activity created a space for Nicolas and currently he is an avid yogi, skier, surfer, cyclist, runner and triathlete. Nicolas credits all his health and physical transformation to the impact that yoga has had in his life. Nicolas is certified in Yoga, Pilates, Group Fitness, Meditation, and Breathing Techniques and has experience teaching across the world from the beach to the office.
